      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I know I asked this before, about that panel. I found an old guy 75/80 at a Ford parts counter. Asked him about it, and he relayed the info.<br />
Absolutely sure now, that panel in the cargo bed is, in almost all &#039;68, a footwell for the spare tire. In most there is a well there that was used for the spare, and Ford realizing the error of their ways,  caulked it shut, but later, the caulk were away, so they caulked and bolted it down to prevent rust in the footwell left over from the wagons.       <content:encoded><![CDATA[I&#039;m considering going ahead and replacing the upper padded dash with my refurbished one and while I&#039;m at it replacing the heater core and pulling and painting the lower dash. <br />

It was originally gold and now it is red.  I was thinking about painting it black, like the rest of the interior, so it can go with any body color later.<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I really like the look of the hood scoop on the 68 and 69&#039;s but have only seen them on GT&#039;s.<br />

My 69 is a base model without a hood scoop and I don&#039;t want to make a &quot;fake&quot;, &quot;clone&quot; or &quot;tribute&quot;.  I would however put a scoop on it if I could find one and it was an option on non-GT cars as this excerpt from Wikipedia suggests:<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Watching the roku channel yesterday a show made in the UK [ called Hot Rods and Muscle] and 40 minutes into the show they featured a 1955 Mainline Ford [Ranchero].<br />
I have never heard of one but it looked like a standard 55 ford Custom with a short cab and pickup bed. Looked like they just shortened the stock top and welded it to the A piller.<br />
Looked to have the Canadian grill.<br />
The cab was rounded not like the sharp angle of the American Rancheros.<br />
May be someone from the UK can chime in with...<br />

I&#039;m assuming it is a seat well from the Fairlane chassis.  I cant get the panel out (bolts are rusted and I can&#039;t get them out...yet). What is under the panel?
