    looks great!
FYI, Ford made a serious design mistake with the gas filler...

If i were you, I'd relocate it to inside the bed.....

It took me all of 2 hrs. to do mine...

    just sayin'

It's going back to black with new orange stripes.

Yes we're changing out the gas filler. I wanted it inside the bed. My body man thinks a proper inset filler and flip door should replace the outer fill. Any thoughts on that?

Body guy asked me if this Ranchero had ever been wrecked because the front fenders are aligned so badly with the body. It has not. Shop owner says that's just what you got in 1975. Body guy says all will be straight before he's done with it.

He's going to lick his Ranchero for hours?

I like the flip door idea, and was planning just that with mine,...before it was taken over and completed. I even had all the parts taken from a 2005 Explorer. Door, underlying supports, everything.

I say door that way you can fill it if you have the bed loaded.

You know, if you ever actually paint that POS Pyle, it'll be one badass cruiser.

Make sure that the inset filler is sealed well to the body. The cavity between the bed and outside quarter panel is basically open to the cab. Any fumes will migrate to the cab. I had a friend do this to a 73. He put a flip door in the side of the bed. Was a little awkward to fill but also had fume problems.

    I foamed that void.
It also acts like a megaphone shouting road noise into the cab. The foam quieted that right down.

If I had them with me, I would. I'll ask Dad to look for them and give me a shout. The trouble with that is, the guy can't find a bolt laying in front of him, if it was the only thing laying if front of him. It might not work for yours anyway. The cap location on yours looks flatter. I'm not even 100% certain the Explorer door would have worked on mine, but it was free, so what the hell.

I better get busy! When I parked next to your Ranchero before, they were pretty much equal in the looks department. It looks like that won't be the case next time unless I do something.

Maybe you should workout a little. Watch what you eat. You'll be fine.
