Finally got my visa card to work for reservation at motel. county changed my address and screwed up everything. taken months to clear up. ups worst. they returned parts orders and cost frght and restock. Put 700 miles on 79 in 5 weeks. Losing little water. no leaks. carpet pass side wet at FORD show last weekend. dried out and has not been wet since. Hope you get 66 fixed.

So... when is everybody getting there?

If you guys want some suggestions on places to meet up or what not, I'm happy to provide!

Looking forward to meeting y'all (that's right, even Frenchies say y'all) and to introduce the hubs - he speaks cars way better than I do!

Fingers crossed that the 'Chero will be ready in time. But if not, we're still checking outs y'all's.

Saturday, as close to daybreak as we can, is our intended estimated time to arrive at the motel...
That is the way it stands at present ~ subject to change to friday evening if funds become available fer two nights stay...
Thank You Frenchy for your hospitality...
I too am hoping Rusty will be ready to parade along with yours,
    Dennis

They'd love to have you, and I'd be jealous. * Not because they'll be having you, though*

Timing's not good for the roundup, but if you're close to the big ATL, who knows...

John, Dawsonville is maybe 38 or so miles North of Alpharetta, Think North Atlanta. Dennis has a nice ride to look at as he's on the other end of the state. I'm just across the mountain literally. Rightnow I can only asume we'll get there Sat. morning, Dad hasn't said where we are staying yet.

I will be arriving Friday afternoon as at least 5 hr drive in underpowered 79 and driver(get dizzy driving due to back). goggle and mapquest say go Dalton - Ellijay - Dawsonville but I was wondering if fewer big hills hwy 53 from Calhoun to dawsonville. anyone know which route best?

I should be getting there Friday afternoon the only thing is we have to get the motor together today and get everything install by next weekend. I am thinking putting the Ranchero on a trailer until I get to the hotel and then drive it the rest of the weekend. I would drive it there but I just feel it is going to be safer since nothing really going to be tested also it needs an alinement and makes a funny nose riding up the highway.

I'm doing a quick in and out for work next Monday and Tuesday but they aren't providing me a car rental, never mind I guess. Would have enjoyed a little howdy do intro session with you southern boys.

Billy, there ain't no straight way there. 53 is probably your best bet if you don't want the $.50 tour of the area. Unless some major road work has been done even 53 will be like a Columbia, Mt.Pleasant, Pulaski, Lewisburg then back big circle on the back roads. Take your time and soak in the natural beauty of the area. You'll be driving a Ranchero, I'll probably have to drive a dang Freightliner.
