BB, are you referring to an automatic or manual shifter? This car has an auto trans.

Auto trans. Assuming that his '69 is like my '71; the shift lever out of the side of the column does not go directly to the transmission, has a countershaft. The inner end of that shaft pivots on a stud that screws into the side of the block, just above the oil pan level. The boss with the threads is missing on the later block.

I see. It does make sense from a design and parts standpoint, but with how much the engine and trans rolls every time you goose the gas, I would think the manual valve would get moved.

Well -- the countershaft is a very loose fit on both end points, and the pivots are exactly at crankshaft level. It works -- well enough. My car may be suffering from old & stiff mounts, they allow very little movement of the motor.

Are there any companies out there that make a front suspension kit like Heidets kits for the Chero? I couldn't find any but If they made it for the Torino maybe the Fairlane for that year maybe it would fit. I assume the don't make them because of the shock towers but I seen the T.C.P product that eliminates the towers. Its most likely over kill but I was just curious as of now I plan on getting on the rebuild stuff from the PST website

I think I might have answered my own question .... http://rcmotorsportsinc.com/rc-106-mod/ this looks pretty sweet and not bad for the price. If I did something like this I might just throw a coyote 5.0 motor in the Chero....HMMMMM
