I'm bringing this thread back up, with another situation that I'd like TestDummy's opinion on. Quick overview: my 'nephew' and I obtained and fixed up an '01 Focus wagon with 94K original miles. It needed a bunch of repair parts, tires, etc, and after having it up for sale for two months, I got it sold last month for $1500. Today, the buyer was doing her due diligence to get the car in her name, when it crapped out. Here's the kicker: as she coasted to the side of the road, the passenger seat airbag deployed! No collision that I could tell, but after a big heated rigmarole about calling me a thief, swindler, lowlife scum, etc., the car's not fixed, the buyer has a dead car, which I will not lift a finger to diagnose, let alone fix, for all the crap treatment I got at the hands of a family friend. So my question is: Ford has a recall on the ODI page of the NHTSA website for bad airbag switches. Do you know if the unintended deployment is because of those switches? The description wont say if they are or not.
