AQL, I hope you make it to Ocala next weekend and bring your Chero. We have got to talk about this as it is next on the upgrade list. Damn, this is going to be an expensive trip :rolleyes:o_O

What rpm does that alternator begin charging? Some of the aftermarket one wire alternators begin charging above 2k. I had one of the 2k versions for years and wasn't real happy with it in traffic with the a/c running. When it finally shorted out I switched to one that charges continually.

So you wont be in Daytona on the 24th then?

I dunno nutting about covered dishes, but I will stop for a bucket O' chicken, ribs or brisket at a local cookin' place if needed (would need input as to location and quality). I am rolling my beloved's RAV4 down there because at the moment I'm not sure Midnight would make it and if she did I would need 22.5 gals of gas every 200 miles. Depending on the agreed upon load out there may be stuff strapped to the roof Clampet style heading back. I could be good with that!! I dig dragging car parts through the lobby of a 5 star hotel  This will be my wife's double nickle birthday extravaganza (Savannah, GA, weekend with a waterfront view) as well as a parts run, considering she was the one who made me go look at Midnight and then arranged financing to consummate the deal she is ass deep in it.:p

    Cheers,

    Doc

200 miles from a 22-gallon tank? Damn, dude, that's below sucks on ice. You either need bigger-diameter highway tires or a Gear Vendors unit!

Hell, I tell everyone that my Ranchero gets 25 miles per gallon...…..the shocked look on their face is priceless, so when I tell them it gets 11 in the city and 14 on the highway I usually get a chuckle out of them and the shocked look turns to a smile.

Yeahhhhhhhh.......,,,,,,,,,, working on that a bit as things go forward. I'm trying to get the idle adjusted and the fuel air mix as well as all the gremlins that keep popping up. I'll keep her local for a while and move to the open road before too long. A matter of priorities. Right now I'm happy she idles and goes when I want her to (mostly), big step up from the original package. Good advice from here has aided in that advancement.

    Cheers,

    Doc
