It's beautiful country up there. Bud of mine from VA settled in Bremerton when he was assigned to the USS Parchee. I read "The Flag" at his retirement ceremony. Have been there several times before and since. Seattle is a bit of a sh!t/freek show but the further away you are the better it gets IMHO.

    Cheers,

    Doc

Oh, and Patty's Eggnest at the Chuckwagon Inn is a great local eatery for not a lot of money, especially brekky. I suggested it to a member on Stationwagonforums, and both him and his wife loved it. 6720 Evergreen Way, near the corner of Evergreen and Madison Ave.

I grew up in Western WA for most of my life; I went to college in Bremerton, and joined the Navy there. But a few months ago, I went back, and it's almost empty downtown. Even PSNS has only a shadow of the work it did 40 years ago.

Never heard of that place. But Everett is nice. Got up that way a few years ago and enjoyed the stay. It was a business trip but still, I always liked business trips to nice areas. That was one, Helena was one, Salt Lake City was one.

New Orleans, Miami, Los Angeles, and El Paso spring to mind as some of the most miserable places I've been forced to go to.

Thirty years ago, a bad sale in Cali got you an awesome home, with land, anywhere else. Not anymore. So do all the little details that improve a house, because it now counts.

Paine field is great to fly into and out of, instead of Seattle International.
