Hello all, most importantly I'm in need of a rear bumper for my 72' (see pic below)
If a front one becomes available too...I'll look at it. I think I can fix mine but until I get it off... I'll know more then. Thanks in advance for any help or leads.

The rear bumpers '72-'79 should all be the same, and of course, intermediate wagon rear bumpers are also the same. You could score one with overriders/steps.

I've looked everywhere on-line. I just have to be patient I guess in hopes one will turn up.

There's a Pick n Nose in San Antonio that Joe and I go to; they have 3 or 4 Rancheros there. If you want, next time we (or I) go there, we can check to see if any have a decent rear bumper...and I'd have to look on www.picknpullsa.com to see if they have any Fishmouths there. However, they are pricey, and they don't publish a price list. If you're interested, PM me, and we can go take a look. That's where my $500 Cougar front end parts are.

The 72 thru 79 rear bumpers are all the same... the front bumpers before and after 72 are different.

I think the bumper is the same size, just that what attached the bumper to the frame is different.

Just to make this clear to everyone.
72-79 ranchero rear bumpers are the same.
72 -73 Montego/torino wagons will bolt up to a 72 79 ranchero brackets and all.
72-73 Montego/torino wagon and 72-79 ranchero frames are same dimensions. Some minor differences on the ranchero frames through the years. But the 72-73 ranchero/Montego/torino wagon frames are identical

Ford saved a great deal of money by always building the wagons and Rancheros from the same basic sets of parts. That helps us Ranchero owners immensely.

Handy... so I sent them an email. Here is what they said:

    Dave,
We have 7 in our classic lot, since we are a self service yard, we don’t keep an inventory of the parts remaining, you’ll have to come look to see if the bumper is still on one of them. The Classic Lot is open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 9-12.

The bumper shocks are what push it outward. And, I'll talk with Joe, see if we can get out there this weekend. Back when I bought that door and nose piece for Babe, it had the overriders front and rear, and I regret not getting the rear bumper with overriders.

Here are two examples of the different rear bumper mounting. The first is a ranchero 72 to 79 bracket set up.
