I am searching for a original Steering Wheel of a 72 ranchero.
Before i like to know how it looks, because mine is a two spoke one, seems to be from a mecury...
Does anyone know how the original one looks ?
    I´ve just a normal Ranchero 500.
    Thank you all

    Steering Wheel for 72 Chero

There was an option which included GT instruments, vinyl roof, three-spoke steering wheel and maybe more. See Super Motors #19767

My 72 came with a 2 spoke, but they were not straight like the pic 5.0 posted.
It had a downward bend on each side like the ones in the F series.

Klaus. My father had a 72 Custom 500, same color, same steering wheel. It looks original.

Well, mine is like ribald1 described.
    A 3-Spoke looks very nice.

Ford adjusted the length of the steering column (shortened) about an inch with the '74 models and then changed the wheel design to make up for that distance. A lot of '74 and later wheels ended up on earlier models - transplants for whatever reason (many a horn pad broken or worn out and non-availability of replacement pads made that happen). I am running a '76 wheel on mine - for that exact reason... In 1979 my steering wheel was unserviceable due to cracks in the wheel itself and the horn pad was falling apart. All I could get from Ford the keep the cruise working and replace the wheel was a '76 and later wheel. It fits, it works, and it is about an extra inch closer to the driver. Actually got used to it and like it a little better than the original.
