Thank you. For the life of me I can't find a dryer anywhere. It's not by the evaporator coils by radiator nor on any lines I see. That's why I'm not sure about this A/C system. If it's factory. Most dryers look the same Correct....(Like a 16oz. tall boy) some have sight glass on top.
Those are receiver driers You can also have accumulator tank driers. Chevy does them alot. Driers are most effective in the liquid line from condenser to txv (expansion valve). Drier itself isn't very big Car system can get by with one 1 1/2 inches round by less then 2 inches long. The condenser coil is by the radiator Evaporator coil is inside the car looks like a heater core.
Looking at your picture You have been converted to 134a The drier is in the suction line Big line from firewall to compressor the place where the blue service valve cap is Top of pic left side
so that's so called dryer? Man , All I need to do is replace o rings and run vacuum on system then charge with 134. Thank you sir for your help

Oh, yeah, I got confoozled (which happens occasionally); the valve looks a lot like the one that was on the Grand Marq parts that were stolen, so I wonder if there would be compatibility between the two lines (intermediate to '79 vs. 'downsized' full size from '79)?
Well, I just learned something. Here I've been dinking around with Eighties and newer systems with big accumulators/receiver-driers, and never thought that small can was one.
