I got it to the point to try and fire it up. I checked to see if I had spark and had zero. I put tester on coil to see if there was power there is none. I tested the connector coil and no power. I’m not sure if there is something unplugged or not so I uploaded some pics to see what I got going on. Thank for help!
your wire that is yellow fusible link looks to have an old terminal connector, i would say clean up all old connections first
i don't see a wiring diagram for 79 on site if you have a repair manual, find diagram i am not up to speed onthe74- 79 wiring
It's fairly close to '72-'73 wiring. I have two sets of '79 factory diagrams, but do you think I can find either one? Noooooooo. But if you give me an email addy, Zerolash, I can shoot a couple book pages on my phone for Duraspark II diagnosis (unless it was you I did that with a month ago). I need to find those diagrams.
Update. Traced wires and cleaned up connections and have spark. It back fired slightly through carb so I’m guessing the time is off. Thanks for the help
If it "coughs" from the carb, you most likely have a lean condition. It you get a large flame come up the carb, it is out of time.
