Hilarious. I've seen this car in the Pontiac area. It was the only other 70-71 Ranchero I ever saw, other than mine. Now it's heading to Iceland, and mine is in VA.

Welcome Son of Olaf! I hope when you get her back to Iceland that you take her for a scenic drive and take lots of pics. I had the distinct pleasure of being "stranded" in Reykjavík for the better part of two weeks and got to go about. That is beautiful country in a raw natural way, the Northern Lights there are just jaw dropping stunning. Other than the scenery, drinking and lovely ladies the bakery goods are to die for.

    Cheers,

    Doc

But if you was only in Reykjarvík area you haven't seen nothing yet! I live in the north side of Iceland in Akureyri.

That is funny!! I just found this ranchero on craiglist and had my friend jump on a plain to get it for me. The man that sold it to my bought the car from California 20years ago.

I tried to assimilate the best I could in any country I have gone to, I can get a beer, find a bathroom, get fed and slapped by gentler sex in about 9 languages . Alas I could not stray far from home base as I had to check flight availability once a day as well as accomplish any other odd bits they had that needed doing. I had one hell of a time getting my tongue wrapped around the printed word but could parrot rather effectively which got me a couple of unofficial guided tours to some very beautiful places as well as access to AWESOME local foods away from the base and "normal" American haunts. I count Iceland, New Zealand and Australia to be my top three "Go back to places". My wife want's to do Europe, Meh. Good history, dirty as hell .

    Cheers,

    Doc

Well, Welcome to the United States, I hope you have some time to do sightseeing; as this is Fall, the leaves on the trees are turning. A sight to behold, in its own right. Here's to Fair winds and following Seas for your new (to you) Ranchero, and that you have a safe and uneventful flight home. We look forward to seeing more of your Ranchero!

MSD makes a tach adapter to work with many different tachs. What ignition system is in there? Maybe a picture would help?

If this is factory, all the wiring *should* be there, unless Ford designed a harness adapter for use with point-condenser ignition. Does the car have the factory point-condenser ignition?

Then you will need an adapter. You should begin with Holley's website, see if they list a factory tachometer adapter, or even if it just has a 'TACH' terminal to plug this tachometer into. Does the hood tach have two leads, red and black? I think if it does, black plugs into the coil harness, and red is power. If anyone else has a wiring diagram, feel free to correct me.

    Hi all.

I was thinking about adding vinyl top to my ranchero. Is someone making the vinyl top moldings?
