Yea, I know all of that but was wondering what everybody is using. Better results with a threaded shaft with a upper and plate that sits on the top of the shock tower and a bottom plate that sits in the spring near the bottom? https://www.sumitracing.com/parts/o...MI87esvtbF6AIVE8ZkCh3DYg3GEAQYBCABEgJCufD_BwE Or the 2 hooks that fits inside the spring near the bottom ? https://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_...VE8ZkCh3DYg3GEAQYBSABEgLu6vD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Maybe we should make a "Tool Exchange" on this site to help each other out?...or find out who is dishonest...?
Woops! My mistake, sorry about that. My car had no rubber bushings there, and so I decided I didn't need to replace them with new shocks, not even sure the new shocks had those parts. But I dug out my '71 books, and there do appear to be rubber washers as noted in other posts here. Not clear they are needed though, the perches are rubber mounted. Drove my car maybe 10k miles without any issues. All that said, I'm amazed the bottom of those shocks stay welded together -- nothing else acts as a bottom limiter but that little weld.
