My belts are ratty, incomplete and dirty gold. I want a black set and found these. https://www.seatbeltplanet.com/i-30...-passenger-bench-or-bucket-seat-belt-kit.html Anyone have experience with this outfit?
I got mine from Python Restoration. They restored my original belts, but I believe they sell sets as well. www.pythonrestoration.com
The push button belts that came on my car are slipping, and won't hold in the spot they were originally set at. Could be the massive force of the beer belly at work here, but I think I'm gonna order a set of chrome lift-up belts that were likely a dealer option back in the 60's:
I have what I think must be a partial shoulder belt. Not sure how it's supposed to work though unless the shoulder and lap belts are independent of one another.
There is a boss on the shoulder belt buckle end that slides into slotted hole behind the lap belt buckle.
In 69... the lap and shoulder were separate... these are my belts after python restorations was done. Two buckles on each side, one for the lap belt, and one for the shoulder. Mine also had a lap belt for the center.
Ordered the chrome lift-up belts today from Seat Belts Plus, a pretty good deal at $40.90 for a pair, shipped. These are the 60" sets, similar to what I have now, not the longer 71" sets I've seen elsewhere.
Well, I got the belts, installed them, took 'em for a test drive, and then removed them. They look cool, but are very uncomfortable, and have sharp-ish corners that dig into to your waist when worn low like you should. Can't recommend them. I ordered a set of the push button style that look similar to the old worn out ones I have, which feel fine, but the stitching is unraveling.
Got the newest belts in today, and they're much more comfortable. These are generic chrome push button belts with the starburst on the button, from RetroBelt.
Yeah, I never liked the older round button ones when I was a kid, hate them now with my overhanging gut.
