On those Rancheros there is a connector that connects the wire from the ignition switch to the resistance wire in the harness going to the coil. Cars with no tach see that connector mated for a straight shot from switch to the coil. This connector is located usually just above the fuse panel. If your tach has the correct pigtail, it will only plug in one way to complete that circuit. Male to female terminals make it easy to connect correctly.
Well after mentally wrestling with the positive post connection for the tach. I finally connected the wires per the diagram and checked for voltage. Then connected the Tach to the Positive terminal on the coil, WAHLAH!!!
I never noticed, that the late '60s Fairlane/Ranchero had turn signal telltales, and that they're in the hood.
Thanks Dyno... Update... Instrument Specialties indicated that the Chrome with the Control's on it is almost done, and the Dash will be ready for reassembly. And will be headed back my way. So guessing a few more weeks. Getting anxious! Christmas in August.
Talked to Instrument Specialties during the week. I should have the rest of the interior pieces back in about 4 weeks. The new horn Pad should have arrived on yesterday (Friday) to be dyed with the rest of the interior padding.
I guy in Ohio, from the 68-79 Fairlane/Torino/Ranchero page on FB, last week. It was the best one so far, that I had shown Instrument Specialties. It was Lt Tan, but they didn't seem concerned about it taking the color. So am excited to get it all back.
WAHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Got the call from Instrument Specialties today. The Dash, Visors, Arm Rests, Horn Pad, Interior Chrome Trim are done. And will be on the way once the check clears. Writing that check hurt! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ But can hardly wait to get the car back together. Pictures coming!
According to the tracking numbers... My parts will be here tomorrow!!! WAHOOOOOOO! UPS don't fail me now~!
And it was Christmas in February! Instrument Specialties did a great job. Next pictures will be in the car.
OK Ladies and Gentlemen... here it is... Was a nice enough day to take Brittany out for a jaunt with her new interior pieces.
