I've hung 2-3 different types of this style light and they tend to have the option of hanging by chains or direct mount.
Fresh evaporust works much faster than molasses...at least at the ratio I mix it (9 water to 1 molasses). It also gives a little short term rust...
It looks like a good candidate for the molasses tank to remove the rust inside.

The cowl panel comes off but is physically welded to the body....one must cut several spot welds to remove it.
Some different wheels and chrome bumpers would have this thing popping.
Rail rockers can also be a source for ticking...I have little experience with them, so hopefully Phil or someone else can point out what to look for.
