Well it looks like it was the horn button....ground contact was melted. Must have been making continuous but slight contact. Altho now the gauge...

Plot update........ Went to start up the other day, dead battery and burnt plasticky smell in cab.......disconnected and charged battery over...
Now I now what it actually is, and the car starts fine, I think I'll leave it well alone!! Cheers again for the knowledge.

Gauges....... Yes the manual button near the starter solenoid. I had checked those diagrams, but couldn't see it on there. Am I not reading them...

Stock springs and shocks are cheap enough from over there, it's just the upgraded stuff, and coilovers that get pricy when you start to add taxes...
