Yah I actually want them to look stock steel I've never been a fan of flashy rims I may ditch the centerlines all together for some stockers if I can find some I'd like to get the engine, but I don't know how I'd get it..
Ok with the rims, send him a pm, where are you located and then find out how much the shipping is, not cheap for a whole engine
Thats the basic idea. Maybe next time you get one of those gear vendor overdrives I will be bucks up and end up making a trip to your place.
I like the stock steelies too. Last weekend I found 2 5-luggers at a pick a part yard, now I'm looking for a decent set of hubcaps.
Well thought I'd post a quick update on the project! Done alot lately, just about every time I have a day off. So I'm putting in 10/20 hours a week on it. I've finally got it mechanically sound! Replaced the valve gasket, which stopped it from smoking. Adjusted the valves themselves, rebuilt the carb, new gaskets/lines/filters galore. It's running awesome! Went through all the joints/pivots and serviced it all. Made a list off all the bushings that need replacing. Now I have it totally quite externally as far as suspension goes and such. Very nice. Visually I stripped the hood and tailgate down to metal. Lots of bondo, strangely it's not doing anything. Just on there...... I mean yah a couple little scrapes but they went way overboard with it. So right now it's got lots of rattlecan primer on it. I also dropped it today! Well almost, got the rear end done, 2" drop. Might be going to a 3 sometime later, but gotta get the front done. Which should be thursday. I'm just waiting on that before I post some new pics! I'm having alot of fun, and driving it everyday!
I know your likely not very near but I do have a set of steel rims I'm willing to part with, the tires are good too, but these are 13" 4 lugger rims. I can use the tires for my other car so would be willing to get them removed to make shipping easier. I know it may not be worth it anyway due to the cost of shipping.
Yah from what I can tell shipping looks close to 150 bucks for that cost I could get a pair of NOS couldn't I?
Well here's a bad pic of where we are at right now! Lowered 2 inches overall, might be dropped another inch in the back to remove the rake, but right now I'm not really worried. Let me know what you think!
well that's about as low as it can go in the front without any clearance issues, and remember I'm working on a budget autozone had 3 inch blocks on clearance for 7 bucks so that's going in rather then the 2 it has now front is fine with me!
looks good to me right there!! good color on that car, and I like the wheels as well...good package already
Well this is a project that I love, but alot of people probably won't. I've taken a milk crate that was my grandfathers. It's been around for a long long time. I decided to go ahead and make this into a center. Couple cup holders and hold my aftermarket gauges. This was the rough up for it, won't be finishing it up until I tear it all apart for body work and paint. I love it though. tight fit!
I liked the turbo coupe idea having seen one in an MG but now think a 1.8L turbo Audi quattro 4-wheel drive conversion would be even better.
