I have a Fordomatic 2 speed automatic transmission with yoke from my 60 ranchero project. make an offer, buyer pays shipping. I also have the rear, side and wing windows. 1960 ranch, same deal, make an offer, buyer pays shipping. shipping from Tucson AZ. I'm looking for the chrome trim for the bed. I have 90% of it, but some of it has rust/cancer. the part I'm missing is the trim that goes underneath the back window this is to be able to snap a a cover on the bed. any help would be appreciated.
I don't believe there was a factory trim part under the window to attach a tonneau cover; it may have been added by a previous owner.
6 cyl. and V8 most likely have different bolt pattern - do your research well. Either that, or get yours rebuilt, hopefully with a warranty.
Thanks for the tip. My Ranchero is a V8. The transmission was rebuilt three years ago and had a twelve-month warranty.

I see it now. I took it to RPM Transmissions in El Paso as there was a receipt from four years ago for a rebuild. After towing it there, thinking they might be familiar with it, it sat for a month. They kept saying that they were just about to crack it open. I went there and found the truck getting used as a parts bin. So, I towed it to another place that has a good reputation in the classic car community. The got it open and found that the bands polished clean, damaged gaskets, and no evidence that it had been worked on now or ever. The next challenge was finding parts. It did not occur to me that things like bands could be relined and that a torque converter could be restored. It troubles me that this new transmission place didn't have that idea, either. Fifteen phone calls and fifteen dead ends later, I found a post here in the Forum to try Fatso Transmissions, and they did get me everything except the torque converter, which they suggested could be restored. I went back to the shop and now he tells me he can get it sent out locally for a restore. Gee. This is not inspiring my confidence. If I knew jack I'd do it myself, as has been suggested many times over. Trouble is I don't know jack from jack and that's that. Days like today I think I'd be better off and taking my money and burning it in grill and make hot dogs. Be cheaper. That what is left over I could go out and buy a stupid Santa Cruz.
