I just bought a 64 Ranchero. Body code is 66H, is this a rare car? I read that 235 were made. Also it has a Futura emblem, not sure if that’s correct.

According to the book "Falcon! The New Size Ford" by Ray Miller, your count is correct. The Futura emblem probably came off a different model. Does yours have factory bucket seats?

Yes, it has bucket seats, but they’re from a Dodge or Chrysler I’m told. I’ll eventually replace them with something that looks more stock, like the Procar classic low back. I’d like to find a center console.

Also if it’s not actually a Futura I’ll take that off and find out what emblem actually goes there

Here are some variations of the 1964 Ranchero trim:

Been looking through Ford Parts Catalog The Futura shows up with a B for the body series, all body styles but Ranchero and showing no Futura Rancheros. 66H shows Deluxe Ranchero but also uses 66B for a Deluxe Ranchero. I'll keep looking what the difference between the B and H is. Could be the side moldings or the seat and door panel styles.

So the difference is buckets vs. bench? Interesting. The designers were all over the boards with these; kind of makes you wonder what they were smoking, dropping, shooting up or rubbing into their bellies.

Strange that the Ford Master Parts Catalog didn't mention bench or bucket seat in the code discription page just the submodel deluxe without the Futura name. The Futura Ranchero could have been a mid year add to boost sales or something where the parts book was done at the first of the year and didn't get updated. Probably never know.
