i just purchased a 1965 Ranchero and with the exception of fading the trim is is good conditio.
What I don’t know is the material it is made of Stainless or Aluminum. Does anyone out there know?

If the trim is fading, it is most likely aluminum.
easiest way to tell if the molding is off the car is to scratch the back side o the molding, if it scratches easily it is aluminum, Stainless is much harder.

The aluminum is anodized on both sides, so unless corroded will be as hard or harder to scratch than stainless.
For a person who can't tell by handling, a magnet is the way to test.
The magnet will completely ignore aluminum, but have an attraction to stainless, though slight.

If you can post a picture of the trim item, we can probably tell you if its aluminum by just looking at it.
