Ok so I posted a question in the Tech section about headers and forgot that I had not posted these pics yet. If you search older threads in the picture area you can see my other threads and look at the progress. Oh yeah Buster is my '67 Ranchero. I am going to have some spit polishing to do when it is all said and done but so far I am pleased with the progress. Laters, Jeff EDIT 4/8/2014: I am finally continuing this thread after 8 years. Due to "life" it has been impossible to put any money into Buster. The good news is that I have been able to keep the Ranchero (not a small feat) and drive it around and enjoy it all these years. There are other threads around but I am going to try and combine all the pictures into this one since none of the old links work anyway. Hopefully progress will be more steady now. Just a quick summary all the fuel issues, header issues, etc have been solved for quite some time. I have been driving Buster around during the nice months. I have some surprises coming really soon... EDIT 7/30/14: Adding in VIN and Data Plate Decoding 7 = 1967 K = Kansas City 48 = Fairlane Ranchero 500 - Bench Seat C = 289 V8 2V 66B = 2 Door Ranchero with bench seat X = Maroon Metallic 4D = Red Vinyl 03K = 03 October 51 = Manufactured for sale in the Denver Special Order District 4 = 3.25:1 standard (non-locking) differential 1 = 3 Speed Manual Transmission Laters, Jeff These are engine pictures with some more later in the thread: [ August 09, 2007, 11:05 AM: Message edited by: eqshadimar ]
A fellow once told me,"pennys make dollars"... Meaning your "Dollar" will soon be made with th progress you are making...I love th`Smell of a new engine too... You GO Boy
Thanks guys Sean I laughed hehe. I am just going nuts because I happen to have the perfect combination of motor, heads, and chassis that nothing works on. Something that was supposed to take 30 min has taken over a month. It will be running soon! Laters, Jeff
Ok bringing up a thread from the past! The engine installation is complete. The header issue was a MESS but we finally got it all figured out. Then there was the all the small stuff like fuel system, ignition, shifter installation, front belt and accessories etc.. Anyway Buster is finally moving under his own power again and is only lacking an exhaust to be on the street. I love the sound of the open headers though (my dog runs out of the shop thou ). Ok here are the pictures Thanks for looking. Laters, Jeff
Thanks everyone! I still need to do some major cleaning to get everything looking pretty but all the basics are there. It actually looks better than the pictures show (well I think so anyway). Laters, Jeff
Yup I am getting excited. Trying to find a good exhaust shop to finish up the exhaust from the headers back. I don't want to spend more than $400 for the whole system including mufflers. Does that sound reasonable? Laters, Jeff
Hello no new pictures to post right now but I just wanted to say that Buster is finally safe and sound in my garage as of tonight. The shakedown cruise from the shop highlighted some minor issues but nothing huge. Needless to say I am a very very happy camper. I will take some pictures of the finished exhaust in a day or two and post them in this thread. Laters, Jeff
