Maybe not everyone is perfect and he mistakenly wrote that instead of trak-lok (or whatever Ford called it, since posi is almost a universal term now that everyone understands, like kleenex)? Perhaps you should be a little less condescending all the time.

That isn't possible. When you know it all, the world is full of mistakes, that you can't help but point out. Regardless, I like the Buick behind it, and the AMC in front of it. All that effort to make that Ranchero look good (and it does), and they half-ass the wiring underneath.
Look, you obviously know the guys at that auto shop better than I, so if you say they don't know the difference between a Ford and a GM rear end, I will have to take your word for it. Obviously I was wrong to suspect that an auto shop would know what kind of rear end was in the car. You do know the people, right? I mean, you aren't just jumping to the conclusion that they are dummies are you? Dropping a GM rear end in isn't an insurmountable task, and people have done stranger things with cars. That particular swap just struck me as odd. So you go ahead not being an asshole, especially if thinking that a car guy knows what he is talking about when it comes to his car makes one an asshole.
So why don't you tell me what led you to the conclusion that it's a GM rear end then? I'd like to learn something new today, if there is something.
For fun, I called Memory Lane Auto, the company selling this Ranchero, and talked to the salesman. He said it has a 9" rear, and both wheels spin when you light 'em up. When I told him why I asked, about how some guy on our Ranchero site insisted it was a GM rear end, he said, 'Well, some people like to argue, not matter the facts'. Seriously, that's exactly what he said. It's like he knows who we're dealing with here. I was blown away.
Ok Eaton does make a posi traction third member that fits in Ford rear ends. So, maybe I was right all along and he does know what he has.
Not sure what that means. But pik up stix helped make the first posi rear end. Someone here will learn a lot from this video.
