Sadly, due to a loss of where I was living, along with my friend Emily having to leave her abusive, controlling husband, I have to put my Ranchero up for sale, in order to either keep a roof/tent over our heads, or help pay for the move-in cost to an apartment. The good stuff: --rebuilt 1979 351W, thirty over bores, ten under main and rod bearings, standard cam --1979 C4 automatic, rebuilt just before installation into Babe --both at about 40K miles --2.47:1 rear axle ratio, but a Bronco 3.50 R&P will be included --Rebuilt steering column and steering coupling --1982 Clarion AM/FM/CASS deck, installed and wired up, but needs new speakers --Includes replacement passenger door and installed rare fiberglass cap The bad: --Needs rust repair work on body only, and surface rust remediation --Needs three of four tires --the replacement nosepiece and right fender need a bodyman's touch to repair and fit right Right door is dented. So, just on the drivetrain condition and driveability, it's worth $2000. I would like to get that, and I am willing to wait for the right buyer. The car has a Texas blue title (no encumbrances or accident reports against it), and is able to be loaded on a transporter truck without assistance. Babe is located in New Braunfels, TX, off I-35 and halfway between San Antonio and Austin.
And I have reached the end of the line. I am totally out of money, and will be selling Babe to a recycling yard. I just have no other alternative now. But fear not, I'll be around to dispense my two cents and see what everyone's up to.
pull the front turn park lts before you scrap it if they are good. (but you probably already did that)
No, there's a change, andrewok1 and I are working out the details, Babe will likely go to FL for long-term storage. This will happen sometime in the next two months.
I do have pics of Babe elsewhere on the forum, but I have pulled Babe from sale, and she's going to storage at another member's property in FL.
