For anyone who wants to go through the whole photo collection, I offer a link to my Flickr account: http://www.flickr.com/photos/xxmachonexx/sets/72157625751014220/

After going through a divorce and the loss of my house (part of the settlement) I am slowly starting to do some work on my '79 GT. I've actually had quite a bit of time to think about what I want it to look like when I'm done now and just need the time, work facility, and funding to fall in place, LOL! Until that happens, I've started under the hood - partly out of necessity. To drive the car from my ex's to where I'm living now, I had to swap out the carburetor. It had a 2BBL that was malfunctioning badly. I had an old Holley 4BBL that had been used on a 1978 Lincoln Continental MK-IV that had sat on a garage shelf for about 12 years.... leaked a bit when I first fired it up, and the primary accelerator pump was frozen solid but it allowed me to bring it home.

Because the Holley was a temporary fix, I got an Edelbrock Performer 650 that bolted onto the Edelbrock Performer intake. Made a HUGE improvement in driveability. Now I've bought a few pretties for it and started removing rust and refinishing some of the ugly spots under the hood.

    More goodies:

Yes, I know the refinishing is a rattle can restoration and that I did not remove all of the rust, etc before covering it...

I haven't completely settled on what wheel/tire combo I want for it, but the plan for paint is illustrated here. This is NOT my Ranchero - just an internet picture my son grabbed, then recolored with Paint Shop Pro:

Glad to see that this one is coming back, good work so far on the engine. Those valve covers really spruce things up, and some under the hood paint can go a long ways I have learned. Two tone is not my favorite on these trucks, but that color combo looks good. Good luck on further progress, and look forward to those head aches of trying to fix things:D
