2000 Lincoln NO Start

    Turns over & over & OVER But will not crank up and run...

    I Suspect fuel delivery MAY be the culprit...

    Late last night, after my meeting, I went to get gas, I filled the tank, went to leave and hadta push her outta the way of the gas pumps into a parking space to sit overnight...

    Going to check her out this morning...

    Do y`all got any pointers?
    Anything that is commonly problematic???

    5.0 motor will NOT Run,

    Absolute first check is to listen for the fuel pump in the tank to cycle on for a moment as soon as someone turns the key to run. Bro, you will need better ears to listen for that pump, take someone with sharp hearing with you. Pump probably gave out.

    You can listen, or attach a pressure gauge to the Schrader valve on the fuel rail...is what I'd do. But, before that, check the fuel shut off switch in the trunk. Sometimes even a bumper kick will trip it.
    That's a 3-fer troubleshooting tip from Uncle Sean.

    I would suggest verifying that you have spark (plug tester) before chasing fuel.

    Shade tree mechanic way was to set a phillips screwdriver on the schader with a channel lock pliers on it to keep enough pressure to open it, switch ON seen fuel squirt twice when switched twice... Just really short squirts... Didn`t keep flowing though...
    Then as my diagnostic self went to the relays WITHOUT KNOWING WHICH ONE is WHAT ONE, No owners manual to decode them or fuses...
    I traded one with a salvaged one from a wiring harness I have...
    LUCKILY It was the FIRST one what is bad...
    Hadta pull two fuses to get a grip on the relay to get it outta there...
    Cranked her up, moved it from the McDonalds parking area to the Gas & Go side...
    Went inside to let them know I got it running And It ain`t abandoned, I told her, as Terminator says, I`ll be back...

    Thank You ALL fer chipping in with me to get this Lincoln Running ...

    They Dang sure HID that fuel tank behind the back seat, in front of the trunk floor/wall

    Never did find no "inersha" switch...

    It is in there. Probably reach it thru a hole in the trunk carpet, the reset button will always be on top of the inertia switch. Glad it was just a relay.

    The inertia switch is installed on the left trunk lid hinge pillar, on the outside surface. It's a 2" square black plastic box with two wires (one is pink with black stripe) at the bottom and a round red button or a white rectangular button on the top. In your Lincoln, it's likely hidden by the trunk trim they way over install.

    I never did find that cut off switch Sean, is it hidden under the carpet somewhere?
    It`s gotta Air suspension switch, I found it...
    An OLD Thunderbird I used to drive had the switch where I could get to it, BUT I ain`t found this one...
    That`s the first thing I looked for last night,

    Oh, I need to mention the On Board technicians too...
    When I opened the "Power source" (fuse/relay) box I find there are Ants taking inventory of things inside there...
    I`m glad them relays are sealed shut,

    McPanic ! ! ! You Got that Right...

    Especially when I looked in the mirror and saw the trunk lid unlatched coming home... :D

    I did kinda go into bewilderment when those "squirts" of fuel came, I`ve heard that some of these won`t let the fuel pump run IF the engine ain`t running...
    I`m NOT a (new school) mechanic...

    We had funeral at 6 for a dear friend tonite, then had supper and went to get the Lincoln...
    She is HOME!

    I`ll tend to them technicians in the morning, then FIND that switch in the trunk, just because...

    That T bird I mentioned ^ belonged to the girl what gave Ann this Lincoln, it would trip the inertia switch regularly, just a bump in the road would trip it...we reset & GO...

    You're right about the pump not running, you're right about that, except for the initial key switch-on...that's when it runs for two seconds to prime the fuel system. So, you *should* hear a whirr for two seconds when you turn the key on.

    I took the technicians for their Last Ride...
    Drove to the church to change out the American Flag, it was looking poorly and in need of a New one Flying...

    Mixed the Ant Poison we use in the yard to spray the area they`re at, I checked before I left and found the inertia switch as directed by our Gurus...

    I`ll clear the foliage what has gathered in the cowl and trunk area soas to discourage any more critters from moving into the Lincoln...

    Ain`t it Amazing how engineers can design a place to gather that habitat for critters to move into our cars and take up residence...

    Everybody ain`t got garages to keep our Lincoln inside

    No sign of ants living in that collection of pecan and oak leaves, they just weren`t living there...
    We ain`t even got no pecan trees, but Pam lives in a grove...
    I`ll keep these areas clear of trash now that I see what is what...

    I sprayed the area where I found them, around the Power Source box, well... I hope I Got them??

    The plastic "Vent cover" is removable, I took it up soas to clear the screen for WHAT? The fresh air Vent??

    Took the air nozzle to it...
    Both under the hood & trunk were full of debris...
    I even cleared the fuel filler what had collected dirt enough to clog the drain...

    I`ve got SO Much to learn about this Lincoln,
