Just got back from chasing turkeys. First year in LONG time didn't get one. Watched plenty of nice bucks being stupid. Had a nice 8 pointer cornering a doe at far end of woodlot watched them from deck of cabin. This morning getting ready to leave had a small 6 point come off hill out on sand mound and then a spike came out behind him. They were maybe 40 yards away and stuck around a little bit even with me smoking and drinking coffee.
In Pa it is illegal to cut the horns off a roadkill. Rules!
So now I wait for Rifle season to open the saturday after Thanksgiving !! I really need to scratch that itchy finger with a trigger !!!
Pony good luck with finding another deer.

There's a 6-pointer visits my front yard about dusk recently. He's staying out of the woods while hunters are about. Yards are safer.

Hey, long as the neighbor's house/garage/dog/cat/kids/car/wife aren't in the sight picture, it's no sweat.

Yeah they do. Damn things almost walk up to me in the summer; first day of the season, gone. Except on the lawn. They're not stupid.

    Deer kept coming :D
Walked in to my stand watching a six point eating at the 75 yards mark, opened up the stand windows, took a couple pics...
Then after a while I shot my sight in target to run him off, he did, to another pile of corn at 100 yards ;)
He kept following the rail of corn eating along the way...
    Finally went into the woods...
After awhile my twin fawns showed up with two more babies, then the other 6 point came out, crossed the field at 200 yards...
The little ones watched "up stream" at a doe feeding, then two more does showed...
I committed to NOT Shoot late, so I just watched....
Left the stand with 6 in the field still,
    Dennis

I didn`t report that last evening I watched them same 6 pointers sparring at 200+ yards....
My first time watching that :D

I spotted a six-point with fairly large antlers, I couldn't get a pic because I was driving, but from the quick look I made, each looked to be 14-16" whereas the going size down here is 6-9". That would've been a nice one to harvest, given the opportunity.

Yes https://www.ranchero.us/forum/index.php?members/handy_andy_cv64.2692/ I don`t need to kill deer to enjoy them...
Those fawns playing (or fighting?) were very entertaining...
Them deer kept me in the stand well after darker than I`ll shoot...
I didn`t wanna spook em, they were just outside my stand, less than 30 yards, until something DID spook em...

    Enjoying Nature,
    Dennis

We have a few does that were having trouble feeding during the heat of Summer; we were helping them out with feed corn, because we had no idea how long the heat would go on. But they survived, and one of them, we call Melody.

My favorite "Welcome Back, Kotter" line:

"We watched a movie in class today. 'The Armadillo--Nature's Tank.'"

Had bought a Crosman pellet gun for squirrel patrol, they ARE a nusience here...
Been "breaking it in" for a month now shooting more than 200 rounds through it...
At first it shot good, killed a few squirrels and hit bullseyes until MAYBE 50 rounds...
Then it "danced" all over the target until yesterday...
I got two squirrels this morning, one at 60 yards (paces)...
I`m sighted at 50 and grouped in 4",
    Dennis

No deer showed, so I brung in meat anyway ;)
