Last day for rifle here is Saturday. Not sure I will go back up to mountains yet.
Only a month left ? Sounds like a nice long season !!!
In our special regs areas it opens back up right after Christmas and goes for about a month. Shotgun area works well if you can find property owners that will let you in to hunt. We used to have a spot that we would do about a 20 minute hunt pulled 6 deer out the one time. Three of us did that loaded up in my truck went home and had blood running out the back of truck. Had some nice hunts in that area.
After that the Amish figured out what we were doing and ruined that hunt for us. Don't like hunting with most of them they shoot at anything and don't know how to track the ones they wound.
Good Luck with the whacking and stacking !!

As I opened the door to the stand I saw Buzzards...
I watched a few minutes and several landed in the trees, SO I went Investigating...
I found the doepartially ate up upload_2024-12-13_18-49-34.gif
I searched last night & this morning, I saw absolutely No Sign of having hit her...
I found where she jumped, as she had deep tracks, bit No Hair > No Blood...

    I reported the harvest,

    So >
I didn`t see any Deer this morning...
I Did see Dogs on several occasion, being as that Doe carcass is there...

I keep the Crossman F4 air gun in the stand to ward off them Dogs and will shoot at a squirrel whenever...
I say "Shoot AT" because that airgun ain`t reliable for accuracy at all...
So I took a potshot at one this morning after several shots to chase the dogs off and Hit the squirrel @ 50 yards...

    Surprize ME !

Well, deer season is officially over...
I ended up with one coyote, a buck and a doe this season...

I`ll still feed these deer, but can only watch em until next September...

    It`s Fishing Season now,
    Dennis
