For my 69 Ranchero. The truck has a 302 cu/in. engine in it currently that was in it when it bought it. I have a 1976 Ford F-250 with a 390 in it that I had bored .030 over. 10.5/1 pistons. Edelbrock high-rise. It's built up. The 76 has a C-6 transmission, the 69 Ranchero has a 4 speed transmission. Will the 390 fit into the Ranchero ? The hood scoop says 390 so I'd kinda like to have the 390 in it. And it would really scream !
It will fit, I have a factory 390 in my 68. It would not be direct bolt in without changing frame mounts and probably relocate transmission crossmember.. The truck oil pan, pick up tube and oil filter adapter would probably need to be changed plus the driveshaft and some kind of floor shifter linkage. ME, I would love to have a 302 with a 4 speed in my 68. I also have a 390 in my 70 F250 and it is VERY thirsty @ $5.00 per gallon in CA.
