Honestly I didnt like either candidate and I cant remember the last time I felt strongly about the choices the parties put forward. Republicans have to step back and realign the party, the country is changing demographically and they are losing badly. They have to rethink their strategy going forward. Jeb Bush said it and it was 100% correct about the Republican party. No matter what party I am, I do not stick to my ties, I vote for the candidate I think will be best for the country. This year I actually left the Presidential spot blank and voted for my local officials only on the ticket. Sad but true.

I think you need to do your homework on the electoral college. In a nutshell; each state has XX# of electors (based on population) whomever wins the popular vote in that state is awarded all the electoral votes for that state (AKA- Winner-take-all). As with most states, liberals are a majority in densely populated, urban areas on the coasts and the heartland tends to be a bit more conservative. Unfortunately, we got who this nation wanted (not me or you). If there was ever a day when the phrase, "we're governed by the lowest common denominator" made sense, today is that day.
The voters were given a choice, a free cell phone or a job. They chose the free cell phone. We better hope China is willing to keep lending the money to pay for them.
The main takeaway here, I think, is this; Romney lost Michigan, the state he was born and raised, and where his Dad was Governor; he lost Massachusetts, the state he is currently living, and Governor of, and; the Romney/Ryan ticket lost Wisconsin, the state Ryan is from. If they people that know you best vote against you, there must be a reason. But hey, those crazy Mormon’s in Utah gave him a 73% win!!
