Like I said, my only issue is with impaired driving. While I don't agree with the set impairment levels, I abide by them. I fully recognize that self determination of impairment is not reliable. Pot users should also. I also know that anyone who starts their day with a drug, be it alcohol or pot, or uses it during working hours, has an abuse problem and probably should avoid use of the drug as they are unable to exercise self control at even a basic level. Those people need to address their mental or psychological problems directly rather than choosing such an escape.
Good! The stuff only makes you want to pee halfway thru the drive to work anyway. Try some nicotine gum instead, much stronger kick without all the hassle of coffee
Thank you, plus if it's legalized hopefully some of the bad weed will go away. Also my driving is never impaired.
You're a kid who smokes dope. What opinion do you think we expect from you? Thanks for stating that you support legalizing dope, Captain Obvious. And thanks for not living anywhere near me.
Your welcome And no, I don't anymore. My work won't allow it. I just believe it should be legalized, sorry I have a differing opinion than yours.
Nebraska's actually a little too close, sharing a border and all. And when did I say you weren't entitled to your own opinion? I was merely stating the redundancy of telling all of us yet again what it is.
How is it redundant? This thread turned into a discussion of marijuana, and I just posted about that.
I guess the fact that you've told us 50 times you smoke weed and want to legalize it. So this is the first time in this thread, still redundant. Like me stating how much value I add to the forum. We all well know.
People that sell drugs and alcohol to kids are just as bad a pedophiles. Actually I suspect a lot of them already are. I find it hard to come up with a punishment severe enough for those people.
Well, I live in this liberal bastion called WA state and up till now I had always assumed that we were just to the immediate right of 'Frisco politically. Now, not so much. This MJ law just infuriates me. While I understand that the war on drugs is a total stalemate, giving up all together and legalizing it just seems wrong to me. It's an open admission that it's really just all about making taxes on the pot, NOT keeping mind-altering drugs out of kids hands as has been the mantra all along. My problem is also with impaired driving or impaired while working. Anyone who has ever smoked a joint knows that pot comes in MANY different strengths AND that 2 people sharing the same joint will get different levels of high from the same number of puffs. Because of this very phenomenon, a pot high is a lot more difficult to regulate compared to alcohol. Combine that with the fact that it stays in your system for up to 30 days and you begin to see how muddy the waters become when trying to prosecute DUIs when pot is the drug. . . On the up side, if you have a fast food business, your drive through window sales should begin to spike. . .
Alright, interesting point... How many people will begin to smoke dope recreationally if it is legalized? I mean, common sense tells me that most of the people that want to, already do do. How many more people will take it up? Fag's are expensive enough, I assume legal pot will be really pricey too.
Here's the problem... Like everything in life, something drastic has to happen to get enough people to rally for real change. It took Pearl Harbor go spark WW2. It took 9-11 to justify the valid and worthy GWOT. Enough people just didn't see enough of the impending doom to get Obama the heck out of power. It's going to take a true financial crisis, like China calling debt and freezing the economy to get most sheep to wake up. And case in point is BB, who mentioned earlier that where you hear your news affects your opinion. Sheep who do drive-by news on MSM stations never hear the long term negative effects of the last 4 years, and next 4. Sheeple just don't see the future. All they see is 'legalize pot, let the boys get married, and free the illegals'. They could care less about the long term future or the debt they're piling on their own kids and future generations.
Common sense tells me that not as many folks will be buying it at Walmart when it's available that way anyway. My reason is this: if it's legal to grow a few plants at home, you can just sell pot to your friends who smoke (spoiler alert: people already do this now, shhhhhhhh) and the gub'ment gets $0 from it. Does ANYONE with a shred of common sense think that would ever stop??? Does anyone really think that folks will just go out and get business licenses so they can sell their excess pot to their friends legally?? Have to account for every dime that is transacted as any business does so they can then write big checks to the government?????? What freakin' LaLa-land do people live in??? That just ain't gonna happen!! "Legal pot" will ALWAYS be more expensive than the stuff that you buy under the table and that's where most of the sales will CONTINUE to be. Honestly here folks: Ask yourselves is it EVER cheaper to get something legally or is it cheaper to buy something under the table?? I don't care if it's getting your car fixed, buying cigarettes, booze, employees for a business (illegals) etc, etc, etc. Putting government in charge of controlling things only makes the costs of those things go UP. It's as predictable as the sun rising and setting.
