    Hi all!
I love classic British bikes (own a beloved '73 Norton Commando), but had the itch for a classic truck... So...

Just picked-up a 1961 Ranchero in Kyle, Texas... an Ebay purchase. Hopped right in and drove it 3 hours to southwest Houston. No worries!

    It has some rebuilt transplants...

'67 200 straight six, '70 Maverick-donor rebuilt C4, 8" diff, 14" Mustang rims with original bottlecap hubs and a few smaller mechanical upgrades. New shocks too! Owner moving family to Vegas and letting go of this baby.

Cosmetics are poor. Faded red paint, rust bad on bottom of both sides.

Still, all electrics work except for horn (even overhead bulb above rearview). Interior is also poor, unrestored. Needs new hides stiched up.

I will enjoy this truck and work little by little on appearance (according to small budget). PO gave me two Scarebird brackets for front disc brake upgrade. Also old Mustang AC in pieces and lots of literature, shop manual, brochures, catalogs etc.

Plan on using SAE 30 or Rotella 15W-40 or Maxlife 10W-40.

Glad to be here now and look forward to breaking in this classic.

wow... nice chero. the rust is actually minimal, considering the year. I think it will make a awesome street cruiser.

Yeah, right ! Ain't a one of us here that wouldn't give up our beer rations or a few meals if the right Ranchero deal popped up. I don't think "need" has anything to do with it.
