65' Fuel Tank "Burp" and "Spill" Fix?

I don't have this issue with my 64 but did when I was in CA with the big clumsy environmental 50 pound double venting returning gas filler hoses, now in AZ and we have a simpler filler, smaller single hose with just at little metal pipe on handle. But I still often fill up at home with a gas can that I've filled at the station, slowly allowing gas to fill up in the tank, at a nice even flow rate. But all this discussion does remind me of a leak ( a small split) I have at the bottom of the filler 3" rubber hose into the tank that has to be addressed next time on a lift. I have the new replacement parts. Thanks for useful info., the best kind!! ;D

 

Here’s what I found for my 65 chero and still working on filling more than 10gal of gas without birding and over filling. Any suggestions are welcome gentlemen.

 

make sure the tank is venting/vented...
