I just installed a factory emergency flasher harness from a Mustang. Surprisingly simple to do (unless you're an old guy like me that doesn't bend as easily as I used to.....). Everything is working fine, however, the the turn signal bulb in the instrument cluster doesn't flash when it's turned on. Is this normal? Do I need to put in a seperate bulb to show when it's flashing? Any help is appreciated.
is there a wire from the harness that connects to the signal bulb wire. just splicing it on may make both outside lights flash when the signal is on. 1966 Mustangs all had a dash light for each direction where 1965 used one light, like a Falcon for either direction. A 66 harness could be the problem. 1965 Mustang with generator uses a different turn signal switch than the later alternator model 65/66, that could be the problem. I know about working under dashes it was a lot easier forty years ago. Mustang wiring should work, wiring wise they are just Falcons. Did the harness package say what year it would work on.
It was a used, original harness. No instructions included, but I found instructions online. There's no wire that goes to the instrument cluster for the indicator light.
