Sorry for the blurry pics.. I wanted to put a tilt column in my car to replace the replacement straight column in the car as bought by me. How do i know it wasnt the original column?? My interior is Black..and the column was red when i bought it. and i want tilt!!

Anyways. Physically the straight and tilt columns are interchangeable.. the two main differences i saw were.

    1. The rag joint is held together differently between the 72-76 and the 77-79. Not a big deal unless you have to change the rag joint itself..which is more of a pain on the 77-79. The assembly still bolts to your steering box with no problem.
    2. The plug recepticle where your harness plugs in and you attach the ignition switch rod is different on the 72-76 from the 77-79. They are physically swappable however and mount the same so again no biggie..just make sure you dont throw your original stuff away.

the harness plug on the left is the 72-76 the one on the right is 77-79

note the height difference...hence pluggy no worky!
