here is a 74 and up station wagon set up this also typical of all fords from this era.
here is the ford part number for the rear bumper that works on all rancheros 72-79 and the 72-73 torino/Montego station wagons. last letter is a "B"
I took off my rear bumper yesterday... what a pain in the arrse. Bumper is worse than I thought. Taking to a chrome bumper repair shop today. The right side bumper mount is pushed in about a half inch... so I am going to try and fix it... but if I can find a good one to replace it I think I want to do that first. On the hunt for one. If anyone has a suggestion please let me know.
There is one in seguin also called Johnnys salvage. They have tons of cars.
Just down the road from me. I'll call them, see what they have. Joe and I are going to the Pick n Nose Saturday morning, so I should have word to you about availability and prices then.
Thanks so much Handy... Happy New Year too...!!!
Thanks Ran Man... I will look them up and give them a jingle...
After going to the chrome guy... he said the damage on my bumper was more than he can fix...but he said If I can repair the area where my plate goes he could probably do the rest. So I repaired the plate area and attempted to beat out and grind the dented areas to. Pretty happy how it turned out. Taking the bumper back to the chrome guy after I temp mount the bumper on my car to see how it looks. (See the before and after pic's)
I'm headed into the 'collector' section for looking at Ranchero bumpers, and I remembered, there's at least two early Falcon Rancheros, in addition to the '2-liter Coke-bottle' Rancheros.
Just remember I have a 72'. I really appreciate you looking out for me.
'72-'79 are all the same as far as the bumper itself, but the mounts will be '72-'76, for which there are a few to choose from
