Hey guys! I just got a 74 project I’m very confused about all the different instrument clusters ! My project came with three different clusters and 2 different 14 pin connectors Oh and my connector was cut off !!! Car is a 500 NON Gt. My best cluster seems to be 3 big gauges & big clock , and a 12 pin RECEIVER !?!? AND I DON’T HAVE A 12pin connector HELP !! Thanks in advance!

Thanks Andrewok1 but i have 2 different 14pin connectors ( different wire color pin locations) I guess I’m Putting a 72/73 cluster in my 74 if I ca find a 12 pin connector. that site from GTVA said 74 had a 12 pin connector but different from 72/73

Match up the cluster you are going to use by the printed circuit number impressed upon on it, and then use that connector and wiring pin out. It is likely you have a 74 which will require the 14 pin connector.

Wiring diagrams are in the Tech Reference and Articles sections. Do you have the 12 pin connector?

The wire colors are very constant from year to year - meaning you should be able to make the 12 pin instrument cluster work with a 12 pin connector. What you might lose would be something probably not vital such as a seat belt warning light. Assuming the interlock was bypassed it would likely not even be missed.

your welcome thanks for the shipping dollars.
as Dan said you may need to go pin for pin matching up circuits

When I was contemplating a swap to a GT cluster in my '74 Squire, I drew up a page showing all the wire colors and identifying what I'd need to get the gauges, clock and tach functional, using diagrams I copied at the local library. That made sure I had correct colors and tracers.
