Ah, there are two ads for this car. And what's with Craigslist? I thought posting the same ad in different major areas was a no-no?
I bet that bed tank is a joy to put fuel in, maybe an "ultra rare" factory option as well. I'm with Dan, no way at 35K(repeat that 3 times fast), 12-15K tops even with the highly sought after dirty as hell engine bay.
Let's not forget the "mostly original" car with a new paint job and a rebuilt engine and aftermarket wheels ( I could not help but point that out).
"has not been restored or molested" ? A rebuilt motor with mild cam, complete repaint, new windshield and aftermarket wheels. Doesn't sound original or unmolested to me. $35000? Probably still have it a year from now. Other than power windows and the 460 doesn't seem much different than any other Ranchero.
Looking at all the pics I've decided that: It has bondo in it. At least at the front of the rear wheel wells, on the quarters. Both doors are rusting. This is the best pic.
Alright, so we're now left with two scenarios... 1.) Nick honestly thought this was a rare and prized specimen worth a lot of money, even with the needed restoration looming. Sort of like a barn find 67 L88. (News flash, it ain't never gonna be no 67 L88 vette). 2.) Nick thought he could pass off a common $3,500 Ranchero as a prized collector's item. Here. On the home of the most knowledgeable Ranchero minds on the planet. Nick, you now know what you have. While I sincerely hope someone finds an example like this worth $25,000 (for the rest of the Ranchero owners everywhere), that just isn't ever going to happen so you will need to either keep it for yourself and enjoy it, or come to terms with the fact that the true value (v) of this vehicle is (v=0.1p) what you are asking (p).
I agree that it is way over priced but I thought this forum was more about guidance and help instead of tar and feathers out of the gate, who knows he may keep it and need some advice, have to start somewhere, just saying.
I mentioned that, and hope he does. Because whether you choose to see it as tough love, or tar and feathers, the words stated by all here are necessary to hear. Last thing we want is to see Nick saddled with something he believes has high value, but does not. And he could be Herb Tarlek trying to pull a fast one, who knows...
True but let him get a foot in the door before running him off, as far as being saddled with it, he owns it, as far as a sock puppet, time will tell.
The contact for the sale is Myron, I think Nick was just posting the ad so we could all see this rare gem. What's the plastic jug in front of the master cylinder?
there is something yellow mounted in front of the washer fluid bottle. I see what looks like an air line running to the top. after market air horns ? Or air shocks?
