I will say, I'm PLEASANTLY surprised as to how cheap parts are for this thing.... I haven't bought one single part over $180 other than all 4 tires. Most expensive things have been the radiator, fuel tank, door seals and rear window seal.
So here's the brake booster and mc that came out.... Looks like the inner seal on the MC blew causing the leak... Booster was in rough shape too, wasn't holding vacuum. Here's the new booster installed (sprayed it flat black)... it was pretty tough to get the pedal/linkage/shift lock all back into place under there... so damn cramped... My back still hurts. Haha. Also got the chance to wash/degrease the motor and surrounding areas.... made the mistake of not covering the carb and hydro-locked it... took out the plugs, cranked her over, blew soapy water all over the place... fired up no issues... god I'm stupid. (BEFORE) (AFTER) While I was in-between bench bleeding the MC and fixing some other issues, I was able to give the car a full exterior detail... washed, removed 99.9% of the residue from the side molding, hit a few spots with 1000 grit, cut it back with some rubbing compound, and then hit it with a coat of wax.... not a show pony, but definitely a polished turd.... it won't look any better than this without a respray. :/ (BEFORE) (AFTER) The drive's door, and passenger rear quarter have both been re-painted... oh well... Also note the new tires... Futura GLS Super Sports all around, 215/70-14 up front, 225/70-14 out back. They fill up the wheel wells nicely.
Oh yea.... also picked up a little present. It's amazing how this alone changes the handling, turning speed, and over-all comfort behind the wheel.
That is one very pretty "turd" you have there my friend . I will say it again that car was a great find.
