Going by what I remember from years ago was it the seatbelt light was in a different location? or was that the cluster with the gauges … But on these 77 and 79 have 2 different parts numbers . Just checking I have a 79 and someone with a 78 wants to buy it and want to make sure it will work for him

Cluster with gauges had slight differences related to accessories such as low fuel light was available on some. 99% certain your standard cluster will work with his '78.

As long as the connector pinouts match, it'll work. Things like the LOW FUEL light will have its own pinout in the connector, and be empty if it doesn't have it. I put a '78 T-bird gauge cluster in Babe (after I swapped in the 120 MPH speedo) with no problems.
