Hey guys. So my latch on my glove box doesn't work. After taking the door off, it appears that the latch isn't replaceable. If they are, I sure couldn't find any online.

If they aren't replaceable, has anyone tried swapping it out? Maybe a torino latch?

Mods, feel free to move this thread. May be better in the general help

Torino glovebox is exactly the same. Swap the doors (easiest way)

Bought a glove box door off ebay. Same color as mine, I was stoked. I sent the seller a message to confirm that the latch worked, he said it did.

Now, I got it in and it's just like my original door. When the door is open and I turn the knob, the latch itself does not open of close. Is this indeed a non working latch? Or do I have another problem, maybe the piece that the latch hooks to?

You don't see the latch mechanism move when the key is turned.
Use a thin screwdriver and push it in sideways, like the catch would, then turn the key and see if it releases the screwdriver (you have to pull in out like it went in).

It is very common for the glovebox to be hard to shut. Try lubricating it with something like PB's Blaster.

Also check the position of the striker. Over the years, as it becomes harder to shut, the door gets slammed, and that can make the striker move, or the plastic of the dash break.
