Last episode they bought a Model A coupe The frickin morons think its a roadster brcause it has a rumble seat........WTF! I thought these guys were suspose to know there shit! by the way they paid too much too......$7000 for a $5000 car.
I watch that show sometimes, and every time I've seen them buy a car ( 3 or 4 times) they've paid too much. Of course you do realize that the people they are buying from are already scouted and under contract with them. They were supposed to be doing an episode with a guy that I know, but he was badly injured in a car accident a month or so back. I don't know if they had already taped the show before the accident or not.
Seen a auction on ebay for a rat rod they picked up and one of the guys brother butchered old four doors make lousy rat rods hehe. http://motors.shop.ebay.com/eBay-Mo...rican+pickers&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_rdc=1
Well it is kinda cool to see a Ford power-plant in a Chevy and for a project car he has started it the right way I can see the $6000 to bad they started with a 4 door, a 2 door in that shape would bring 10 around here.
I think I remember them buying that car in one of the shows but I'm not sure. I'll watch for it on reruns. Anything is better than 'Dancing With The Stars' or 'Survivor'. I'll even watch 'Billy the Exterminator'.
I've found myself watching the Pickers. I just wish they'd show what the crap they bought actually sold for, not what it's 'value' is. They decide what that is. Regardless, on one episode they did two 'Picks'. I tallied up their 'make believe' profits to see they made a whopping $400 that day, or $200 each. Take the gas used in that big van they drive around, and meals, and I bet they didn't make $120 each that day (plus they have to pay that large girl at their shop). Your business ain't gonna last long with that wage. Maybe they collect welfare or disability from some old injury or something that helps.
Yeah, on the shows I've watched where they have bought old cars, by the time they paid to have the car hauled to their shop, there was usually less than $1,000 left for profit, and that's only IF they could get the asking price for the car. If they weren't making money from the TV show they would starve.......and watch what you say about the tatooed lady. She might be the daughter or wife of someone here.
She is large, and there is nothing wrong with that. I would say you are really sensative, but I remembered that you were once a large lady too, before you died earlier this week.
That's why I have no interest in watching 'Storage Wars'. I watched one episode. In that show, somebody got an old bread making machine out of a storage building and they valued it at $75. I figured that it was worth about $5. I did think it was funny though, because one clueless guy bought a building that had a bunch of old power tools. He thought he had found a gold mine. Most of it turned out to be junk and he got something like $10 for all of it.
I worked with a guy in Detroit who had a brother that managed 2 storage unit lots. The night before there was to be an auction, they would bust the locks off the units and take anything good, then toss on a new or used $2 Masterlock. I helped them one night, drinking some beers and having some fun. After I was a part of that, I realized that I had no interest in being the high bidder on picked over crap. You know that happens everywhere.
Large isn't quite descriptive guys, she ain't a bean pole for sure. Large in the right places maybe ? Got a great attitude though and is a real digger, fun to talk to in person, remember -- They set up camp in Nashville not long ago.
I by no means meant 'large' as in gross fat, I meant as in big boned. Not sure what you mean by set up camp in Nashville though. Are you saying you are on the show?
She's an attractive girl, even with all the tatoos. I know those are big these days but I'm from a different generation I guess. I kinda get the impression that she and Mike have a relationship other than business but I'm not sure about that. The show they were supposed to be doing in my area was going to be with Don Ellis in Henderson, TN. Don was Register of Deeds in that county when I went into business. Since he retired, he's been an auctioneer and he collects classic cars and other antiques. I know he sold off a bunch of cars 2 or 3 years ago so I'm not sure what he still has. I'm hoping that they taped the show before his accident.
No. I am not on the show. Did get to meet them thru a chance encounter while they were finishing up location contracts at my atty's office. I probably would enjoy prowling thru all the junk with them. Noooooooo ! Got enough junk for the attic already.
All the piercing and 'body art' is decidedly low rent. I can almost understand when a homely girl does it, it is kind of like painting a mural on the side of an old VW van. The sad part is that when the fashion goes away, as it always does, the tats won't. What once marked you as cool and edgy will become a permanent label.
Not to worry; for every used up old lady with tats and piercings, there is some beer-bellied loser in a trailer somewhere that would love to have her. It's one of those nature things. You see it all the time on Cops.
Y'all remember the Hobo Jack episode? That dude was at the local flea market here a few weeks ago, picking his guitar for donations.
