I reckon she's a bit of alright. As for those clowns in the van. Give me a shotgun so I can turn them into American pick them up with a shovel. What a pair of wankers. I know it's all about getting a good price for stuff so they can turn a profit but they insult peoples lives along with it. And what's with the concentration camp shuttle bus they get around in. I thought america had some cool ish vans to do that kind of thing. it's funny to see what they pay for cars though. They get ripped a new pie hole every time they buy one. I want to see the episode of them being raped with pine apples for knocking on the wrong door in the hot season. Stop
My government named a national holiday after me a few years ago. Mofo day. It's cool. Everyone dresses up in togas and gets drunk listening to skynard. Fantastic fun. You should all try it.
Been there, done that....and skynard was playing live on stage. That's one of the few advantages to being old.
I guess this show ain't gonna happen. I saw his obituary in the newspaper yesterday. I still don't know if they ever filmed the episode.
Anyway, back on topic; Last week the nose pickers found a 'US' civil war belt buckle with a bullet lodged in it inside some redneck's barn. Mike buys this thing, saying it's worth a ton of money, and I believe they even showed it was 'worth' $200 later. Well, if he would have watched Pawn Stars a week prior he'd have seen that those buckles are 100% fake and worth only $25. Fool!
Yeah, I saw that belt buckle, but I can't remember if it was on Pickers or Pawn Stars. Last night I saw a Pawn Stars show where a guy brought in an old Rolex that had belonged to Bernie Madoff (spelling?). He supposedly paid $32k for it at an auction and then found out that was worth much less. I don't know anything about Rolex really, but I've never seen a watch that I would pay $1,000 for even if I was a billionaire. Yeah, I know that some of them sell for huge amounts..........but not to me. Wait, I do have a Rolex that my son bought for me in Quatar last year. I'll sell it for only...........uh....$10,000.
Sean, not to rain on your parade....but they SOLD the belt buckle for $200.00 not thought it was worth it. I watched the program tonight...and when they "value" something they put value...but on that item they showed it as sold. So some other sucker paid big bucks for it...poor sap.
How dare you dispute me! No, really, who cares? It's not my parade. I thought they just valued it. Either way, they should refund whoever they sold it to about $180. Even though the 'buyer should beware', these guys are the supposed experts.
I imagine that the buyers are not real, either that or they are paid more than the item cost. I have never seen the show, but I can't imagine buying something like that in front of a camera crew with it going on TV without compensation. My wife once wanted me to watch a show about these guys that repo cars. She thought it was real, even though they say at the start of the show that it is all actors. I made it thru about 10 minutes.
I watched that show a couple of times but everything was so obviously staged that it got boring in a hurry.
Sean, I agree with you there....some poor schmuck definitely got ripped off. Ribald1, they don't sell it on the show as a rule...just put down what they did sell it for after they got the item. Those two guys remind me somewhat of the three stooges...the only one worth the price of admission is the woman and they don't show her enough...LOL
In case anyone happens to see American Pickers tonight, they are supposed to be airing the episode featuring the guy that I knew. He died a a few weeks ago from injures that he got in an auto accident after they filmed the show. His name was Don Ellis. They're supposed to be showing two local guys but I don't know the other one.
