Thinking about this set...... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140379632777&ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123
As I told you yesterday, those are the bomb! You could use them on Pyle and then re-Ebay them for 70% of what you paid, if you keep them in decent shape. If you don't use the one on the far right, send it to Denny, he'll use it I'm certain (butt not for body work).
Well I usually do not flip tools on Ebay(you can never have too many tools) Besides I have my real custom project still to do covered up I the shop..if they are as good as I have heard I will have no reason to unload them Also I have to justify to my self to be spending money that is not going to make me money right now..
Those do look pretty nice, wonder how well they hold up? Am considering buying some myself since the 62 appears to be needing some blocking. A friend of mine got a set similar from one of those swap meets, don't know what he paid but do know they also weren't cheap and he swears by em.
A tip for the inside curves. Cut pieces of PVC, various diameters, glue on the foam pipe insulation for 3/4 pipe. Use the grey hard stuff, not the black foam or it will come apart when you remove the sanding tape. The pipe insulation is cheap, and one 10' piece will make a lot of sanding blocks. The pipe insulation is just slsightly wider than the sanding tape, and as it compresses it conforms to the changeing radius of the insde curve very well.
Yeah, I'd probably use it to re-shape your head. I'm betting Carl would be happy to donate it for that use, too. Those sanding blocks are a pretty color. That alone should make them worth the price.
I paid $149 at eastwood, they gave me three rolls of sandpaper and some glide coat. I didn't get the little sander with the knob on top though.
I told him about eastwood before he bought them, but I got mine when they were having a sale. Eastwood is currently charging $189 for three sanders, the paper and glide coat.
If you were to try and buy the same general mix of blocks from 3M you would spend a whole lot more for it than Carl paid. Shucks, depending on the type and abrasive you can spend upwards of $50.00 Rancherobuck$$$ for a roll. Some of the flex blocks are easily $40.00 each and the larger ones are double that. I think you did well, Carl.
