Had the color custom mixed by NAPA w/extra metallic and pearl, just need to do some wet sanding/buffing, and a little brake work, and she's "road-ready":D

I like the look of SATIN paint but I do not think I would go with a semi gloss paint. Looks too much like dull paint.

I think she meant satin, or flat. Do they even make a semi-gloss auto paint? Regardless, a satin car with gloss stripes would be different.

Actually the Kustom Car crowd has been doing it for over 10 years now satin base color and gloss Flames/Scallops/Heavy metal flake roofs..

Satin is a whole lot different semi gloss or flat

Flat is dead dry looking like felt
Satin has a slight shine but no reflection kinda like Velvet or satin cloth
Semi Gloss has a dull reflection like wet primer or 20 year old weathered gloss paint

I actually meant Satin finish... Klaus isn't sold on the idea yet... but its been a thought I've been considering... I would still call him RED..

The reason being, the ass hats that painted RED 8 years ago did a bad prep job and I have Paint popping off the hood and cracking so RED is in dire need of new paint. At any rate RED won't be getting a Pearl Paint job again.

Yes I know this, my brother did a great job painting RED, then he got stuck in a hail storm that caused 3500 in damage. I took it to a shop who I THOUGHT were good and now its coming apart. I'm glad they are out of business now or I would put them there. It sucks bunches but... live and learn.

I feel ya! after my last ordeal with "UH OH BETTER GET M>>>>", which did an absolutely terrible job on 2 of my other vehicles in the past....NOT MY CLASSICS!...I figured, how hard could it be?...that was 6 yrs ago.

I've gotten good enough to have done body work and paint on about a dozen cars now...2 of them mine ...including "Bucky" the other was the 67 Bird "Tweety"
The rest were friends and a couple of "paying" clients.

The only draw-back is I'm nowhere near a quick as a pro shop:(
but if they can leave it w/me for at least 2 weeks, it's done right and so far 0 complaints:D

its actually fun working on them, I spent a few summers working on cars with my brother after my dad passed away. I really enjoyed the body work and working with Jerry. I probably will do it myself if I get the equipment to do so, that is where I am lacking is the paint guns and sanders to do the job. :) someday maybe. I would love to see pictures of your Bird :D
