We've mentioned other motorized and mechanical hobbies, like the Firearms and Motorcycle sub-forums... How about boats? Who's got a boat, or has had one?

You should give a TED talk. Man, the stories you can tell sometimes.

We live in one of the premier cruising areas found anywhere: in the San Juan islands in NW Washington state. This is our baby. 1996 Bayliner 4087. Twin Cummins 250 HP diesels with 1250 hours. If you think Rancheros are expensive hobbies...!

It’s not set up for or the right kind of boat for much fishing around here. Crabbing, though, is another thing! We spend most of our time on the water cruising and exploring. The San Juan’s provide endless opportunities for that with marinas that range from simple to destination resorts. Tons of coves to anchor in as well.
We got this boat in late 2016 and are still learning the ins and outs of cruising and navigating. Our goal this summer is to head north into Canadian waters and expand our horizons so to speak, and spend a week to 10 days on the water.

It's tough to be landlocked and read posts like that. That boaty is flippin' awesome looking, and I'm sure it's a blast to be on.

Jeff B., when y'all gonna come down to Everett, pick me up?;) I've had Red Cross training and helmed a couple craft in my day, to include a river tourboat in Australia! That was only for five minutes, but I didn't ground or collide!

    And Basstrix, if it doesn't have a 385-series V8, it ain't a bass boat....

"If the engine in your bass boat's more powerful that the engine in the truck that tows that bass boat, you might be a Redneck."

The fastest was on a river going WITH the current and light on fuel...77 and change on GPS. A more typical top speed is between 65 and 70 depending on load, altitude, and temperature. The engine is a Yamaha 250hp 2-stroke.

    Haha, good one, Andy.
