On thursday, I headed up to Va. to see my dad (sorry Spence and Dan, I didn't have alot of time to visit). I drove the F250 and was a few miles from the house when I spotted a red '78 in a parking lot. Being a chero nut, I turned around and pulled in behind it. As I was pulling up, the owner had just taken out his tools and popped the hood. Seems he was overheating. After some small talk about chero's, we proceeded to try and get him back on the road. About 3 miles later, he pulled over again. To make a long story short.... he had been overheating (pulling off the road) for about 20 miles. We yanked out the thermo. and filled him up with fluid and off he went.
The great thing about this encounter was he was so happy to meet a fellow chero owner. He said he'd never seen a chero before and saw this 78 for sale and had to have it. I told him (of course) about the site and he said he would check it out. Nice guy, hope he looks in on us.
Rule #1- NEVER leave a fellow Ranchero owner on the side of the road! It could be you one day!!

No joke, that was the middle of nowhere!

4x4? You mean the '72 Gran Torino Squire wagon on a 4x4 frame with the Bio-diesel engine?

Nice work Robert. Of course, it'll never be me stranded. Charlie lives in the driveway and I can walk home from there. And, the Durango will never strand me.

    Stranded and Karma

DF has set the Karma flag - it will get him sooner than later unless he knocks on wood, throws a pinch of salt over his left shoulder, executes fifteen Hail Mary's, turns 4 pennies on the ground face up, crosses his fingers and toes, and pets a black cat all in the next 5 minutes. :p:p

    Nope -

Karma is fully transferable and conveys to it's original owner. Unless he gets a Ford and promises to NEVER own a dodge again. Otherwise, he is just destined for continued and repeated intrusions from the Surprise Party Department of the instant Karma League.

You know what guys, you are right. Although doesn't having a new truck stolen offset the karma flag? That's stranded after all... Hasn't been a year yet. And the mighty Durango did replace it, FWIW.

Karma doesn't deal in the past...

Karma isn't retroactive, past misdeeds are dealt with by the Karma earned at the time of the deed - clearly you did something desperately needing a huge Karma retribution penalty. You've just earned more. Did you get your hail Mary's done? Find the pennies or the black cat? Too late?

With a face like my avatar's, how could it let me down? Nah, it's got the rock solid 318, as good as the 302 from a reliability and longevity standpoint! :p:D
