Thanks due to some good advice! ...and my finally obtained correct '65 grill...now, all those others things to do/change...!
Every time one item gets checked off my to-do list another gets added, sometimes two! Here's one for you: Before the next show, put some shine on your BFG Radial T/As. They look neglected compared to everything else.
Not much prep: when I bought the grill I thought I could restore it since it was already blacked-out...sorry but too much work and really not worth it to my thinking. I just cleaned it up first my washing with detergent and then using acetone to strip whatever would come off easily. I used a couple of coats of rattle can Rust-Oleum satin black paint...
Well, I hear you but my semi-long driveway is gravel and kicks-up dust...I should have cleaned them at the car gathering but it's a driver and I'm not that anal about it looking perfect...some of the guys at these shows, honestly, make me laugh at their too-shined trailer queens! Plus, it was 44 miles just to the event from my house.
Yeah, that can get out of hand. We've all seen restoration shows where they intentionally overspray to replicate factory production, pay mucho $$ for some old style hardware, etc. Mine is a driver too. No Concours judges in blue blazers and white gloves are gonna sniff around my ride.
Hey, with all that crap in the way HOW do you get the beer out?? And that clear tote won't pass inspection
