1) I dunno why Ford didn't just use the wagon taillights, the sheetmetal and mountings are the same; 2) how did the fender repair come out? Was matching/repainting needed, and if so, how does it look?
It actually turned out pretty good. They worked hard to match my color, it’s old and oxidized but like I told the, don’t stress it too much cuz I’m wanting to paint him before too long. It came out a little more matte than the rest of the car, but the color was pretty spot on.
So, I picked up another grille for Cochise on eBay. This one’s off a 68 and is the one long piece. I kinda like it. I put it up in the barn for use someday when a rock decides to put a hole in the grille that he’s wearing now. I still don’t understand why they decided in 69 to make the grille into three separate pieces. Lol, and the 69 ones are so freakin expensive. For plastic! It does look good on him , I’ll grant you that.
I forget if I mentioned this, but a year ago I fell in love with some taillights on a 67 Country Squire wagon. Looked like I could make em work on Cochise so, what the heck. He now has a bit of the “cosmic era” and I dare say he looks even better from behind, lol…included a before and after shot.
Yeah, I really love that look. That should have been an option for low-end Cheros, and standard for high-end Cheros.
Well, I just consulted my Mitchell Manuals about my bumper numbers…might help if I could actually see this microscopic writing lol…

Yeah, pics require a resize to 1MB max size for posting. Ever since Adobe changed their products to a rental basis or some such crap, I've had to get rid of it, and I have not found a suitable replacement I don't have to pay for.
Well I think the medium size pics work pretty well. I’ll use those in the future instead of the small ones. …so, I’m still on my 67 taillight kick. I found some NOS bezels and lenses so they’ll look great when I put em on. I really like the middle reverse portion because they’re glass. Any who, winter is coming to Gold Country so before long I’ll be putting Cochise into hibernation mode. The snow drifts pile up in front of the barn and I won’t be able to get in there in a couple months.
Changing the file name extension to "jpg" instead of "jpeg" will sometimes allow more options for editing of photos.
So I belong to a car club called The Roadents here in Grass Valley. There are a couple establishments that have put photos up on their walls of us and/or our cars. Kinda neat to see your car on the wall of a shop. I’ll see if I can find some pics to show.
Yeah, we’re a fun little group. On Saturday mornings we get together and do the coffee donut thing. We usually have between 100-150 cars show up. Relaxing and a great resource of car info.
