Just heard on the news that a tornado hit Jackson, Tn. I believe that's where Denny lives. Does anyone have his # to call him? Denny, check in with us.

That is where Denny lives. I to came on to find out if He and Family were safe. Sure hope so! Maybe some of the others know how to contact him. I know Hillbilly does. Maybe we will hear from him later. I hope we don't get a repeat of last years devastation.

Sorry to hear this and do hope he and his family are ok. I think he is actually right outside of Jackson.
Looks like we had some nasty winds here in South Louisiana last night also and things were blown around the yard, think the worst went north of us.

I am in a short sleeved T-shirt this morning, and that's a bad sign this time of year. The forecasters are saying that it will weaken before it hits us, maybe. I am keeping my eyes on the doppler, and praying though. Tornados are one of the things that really scare me.

We are too. What came through Americus came on up to within 2/3 miles of us, last year.

I'm trying to contact him too. That same system brought big rains and flooding around here but no weather related injuries I've heard. No real violent stuff this time. Hope he's OK. To your point Ray... Friday we got 8" of snow. Monday it was 74 degrees. Yesterday thunderstomrs and flooding rain, today it's 34 and dropping. Bah!

I'm also trying to contact my Mom; she's in Southaven MS. So far no response to email and no answer on the phone.

    From the AP:
A T&P blanket, if you would please.

No problem John, hope she's OK.
In '88, we had weather like this and a F4 came rippin' thru Raleigh. We followed the devastation for about 20 miles. These things scare me too Ray.
Yesterday it was 74*. Today, their sayin' 78*+, with strong storms in the evening. I hate night time t-storms! Ya can't see if anything is headed for ya till it's to late.

Those at night really scare me too. At least one TV station here has a current doppler on it's site. Believe me, being an old Radar man, I keep my eyes on it. The front is now just reaching Georgia down southwest of Atlanta.

    Y'all be careful.
Yea, it seems that we always get these bad storms at night.
When hurricane Fran came thru in '96, it wiped out ALL the trees in our yard.
We were the only house in the neighborhood with damage. It took me a year of weekend work to clean everything up. My dad came down to help and said it must have been a small twister or micoburst that hit us. I remember looking outside when the sun was just starting to come up and realized that I could see the sunrise more than normal.....all our trees were down, pixie stick style.

So I heard from Momma. She came through it fine, although she does miss not having a basement to hide in. No real problems for her other than a brief power outage. She was always the storm worry wart in the family. She put that bug in some of us kids but not me. I was always the one on the front porch with Dad watching it all roll in. I still love a good boomer (although I'll pass on a tornado direct hit, thanks anyway).

So, by my count that still leaves Denny unaccounted for. Jackson, TN is all over the news so I'd guess that best case is he's just without power and he'll check in soon. We hope. Man, 47 people zapped in the storms. That's huge, wow.

    good to hear

That good to hear about your ma.
Am I mistaken or was there another member from around the Jackson area?
I thought he/she was a fairly new member. I could be wrong.
